A self taught Artist-painter, poet, inventor and photographer, Ramberto Rodriguez started drawing and painting at an early age, this all due to his mother and his art teacher who influenced him during his elementary school years. Born in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico and raised in New York City, at age eleven, his art teacher discovered his artistic talent and awarded him a small art scholarship- which was sponsored by the Sax Art & Craft Co.; where he studied the basics of pastel and charcoal drawing techniques.

While still in High School, in 1968, his artistic talent was interrupted by the Vietnam war, where he served in a combat role as a United States Marine and, after his return back to the United States; having put aside his artistic talent, he focused on the study of law instead; while he remained active with the United States Marine Corps Reserve, he became involved in the civil rights movement of that time and worked as a community organizer and a civil rights activist in his community. After the movement died down, he joined the United States Civil Service Commission, now known as the United States Office of Personnel Management, and later joined the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, where he served as Deputy Clerk and as Personnel Officer of the Court, and in his collateral duties, also served as Chairman and officiating officer of the Federal Hispanic Employment Program Council from 1988 to 1997.

After leaving government service, he re focused his attention back into his art; studying at the Art Center in Mount Vernon, New York where he attended several workshops. Since rediscovering his art, Ramberto has painted well over 300 paintings and drawings, ranging from pastels, oils, acrylics and watercolor. His paintings are among private collectors throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Among many of his first place art awards, he has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, for excellence in painting and the IWVPA- International War Veterans Poetry Archives, where he was awarded the Bronze Helmet Award for his painting "No Man Left Behind" a collaboration of art and poetry with his long time friend writer and Poet, Mr. Lawrence A. Degraw. His style of painting has earned him recognition as a diversed artist and is featured as one of Puerto Rico's aspiring artist in www.pertoricanpainter.com. Now retired, he makes his home in beautiful Ocala, Florida, where he continues to paint and is actively involved in his community as a member of several organizations promoting art and the Ocala Art Group, his work has been exhibited at the Ocala Chamber of Commerce.
